This study suggests school-based mindfulness training may reduce stress, trauma and even depression in the daily lives of urban middle school students. “High-quality, structured mindfulness programs have the potential to really improve students’ lives in ways that I think can be really meaningful over the life course,” says lead author Erica Sibinga, M.D., M.H.S., of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
